Global oil prices are climbing this month due to supply concerns and market tensions.
Dubai: The UAE will soon announce petrol and diesel prices for October 2025, and residents are keeping a close eye as these updates affect daily fuel budgets and expenses.
For September, prices saw a small increase compared to August:
- Super 98 petrol: Dh2.70 per litre
- Special 95: Dh2.58 per litre
- E-Plus: Dh2.51 per litre
- Diesel: Dh2.66 per litre (down from Dh2.78 in August)
Since the UAE deregulated fuel prices in 2015, monthly updates have moved in line with global oil trends. With October prices expected by September 30, many drivers are waiting to see if fuel costs might dropโor rise furtherโnext month.
What UAE Motorists Can Expect
Oil prices are on the rise this month, with Brent crude topping $68 per barrel and US oil above $64. Global tensionsโsuch as US-Russia issues and OPEC+ supply concernsโare adding pressure to the market.
At the same time, US crude stockpiles dropped last week, while diesel prices in Europe climbed due to supply disruptions from Russia. These factors continue to push global prices higher.
However, there are signs that could ease the pressure. Iraq has restarted exports from its Kurdistan region, bringing an extra 230,000 barrels per day to the market. Plus, higher OPEC+ production in September is helping balance supply risks.
For UAE motorists, this points to fuel prices staying steady or rising only slightly next month. Big jumps are unlikely unless geopolitical tensions grow or supply faces fresh disruptions.
